Yes, Math!

I've been searching frantically for a math program for Rebecca for othe last 7 months.

But, I think I finally found it!  It's Teaching Textbooks.  I've heard a lot about it from other parents in our homeschool group, and after trying A Beka, Math U See, Singapore and Right Start, she is loving this.  It came in the mail yesterday and we opened it up today.  We put in the CD-rom and Voila!  She was doing math and did 3 lessons today because she thought it was fun!  I remember loving Algebra in 9th grade because I got it, I understood it.  I think that's how she is feeling.  It's slow enough for her to comprehend and then she fills in her answers on the computer and it keeps track of her grade, and helps her if she misses a question.

The funny thing was, she made a school schedule for July and Aug and dubbed Saturdays as her day to relax.  ?  What does that mean to a 9 year old?  It means going to Build and Grow at Lowe's, Diving into her latest Geronimo Stilton book, doing 3 lessons of math, and finishing with hours of listening to The Lightning Thief audiobook while she follows along!  Yesterday she loved working on her American Girl lapbook and I'm starting to think...we may be onto something here!  Of course, the mandatory hour of english, handwriting, writing and spelling is four times a week, but if the rest of it is reading, lapbooks and doing experiments, we're good!

Oh!  Let's not forget P.E. Outside the wake :)

Aahhhh, feels great to hit the right buttons!
