I found a book at a classroom store called "Know your states" geography centers. Rebecca likes this kind of stuff. It's a break from the norm of schooling, so that's always fun. I finally got all the pages laminated and am on my way to making individual folders for each section.
It feels like it's been a bit of work, but only because I had to read the directions and put it together. It's not like it was hard to make copies and laminate pages. ;)
I hope it lasts for all 4 kids, darn it.
But by the time I've got these made it's too late to incorporate them today. I do still need to cut out and assemble the folders (and buy the folders too, I guess) But it's something to look forward to.
Today was a FABULOUS school day. No going anywhere. No interruptions. The kids actually got ALL of their stuff done! Math, English, reading, writing, history, science and piano!
It's a lot of me time when you've got 3 kids that need individual attention.
We did a bit more religion today. That always makes a difference. And the kids were really geared up to learn. (probably because we took so many blasted field trips last week)
We've also decided to just do Tae Kwon Do for the next couple of years. It is possible something else might sneak into that, but I hope not. I think I've overdone the overscheduling of mom. It's good to have "slow" time.
And that's why school went so great today: we had no other commitments. We could have gone on a walk, or to the library, or done a myriad of things, but we just stayed home. I like staying home. :)
