Conference April 2011 Highlights

Oh, man, I learned so so much.  Here are some quotes, some paraphrased.

"Teach children to be examples of the believers" and "The greatest joy we receive in this life is following the Savior"  Perry

"Pain brings you to humility (physical and spiritual pain).  Christ suffered to understand this.  We try to understand him"  Richards

"You get surplus by spending less than you earn." Eyring

I loved Elder Packer's talk.  He mentioned again that we are Latter-Day Saints and people who don't think we are christian either don't know us or misunderstand.  He went on to talk about not being offended.  To leave it alone, and that Latter-Day Saints are ordinary people and ordinary families.

"We live to die, and die to live again." "Be prepared to meet God."  "Teach your children to have great faith....Obedience allows God's blessings to flow to his children....Overcome fear.  Face the future wtih faith."   Nelson

"Desires dictate priorities."  "What we will desire is what we will become and get in eternity."  Oaks

"If we are thinking only of ourselves, we will miss some of the most profound experiences of our lives."  "Become the answer to someone's prayer and we can become the answer of our own."  ""Preach the gospel at all times;  if necessary, use words."  "Blessed are they who have not seen and yet believe."  Uchtdorf

In the last judgement, you won't be judged on what you do, but what you have become.  "Don't resist the things that help you put on your divine nature."  Chrstofferson

Tithing--"it's not a matter of money, it's a matter of faith."  Pratt

"To do without to be is hypocrisy.  To be without to do is to be devoid."  We shouldn't have to do lists, we should have to be lists.  Robbins
