It's that time of year...again!!

The reason our blog is named outside the wake has nothing to do with funerals.  Really.  And it's that time of year again!

We all have our passions, even obsessions.  Maybe it's scrapbooking, photography, cooking, camping, fishing, hunting, dancing, dieting, reading, being poolside, or at the beach. 

Ours happens to be being on a big, beautiful lake.

Now here we will share a bit of our passion, even summer obsession, with our family and friends and in an effort to find others who share that same passion.and love of lake living, boating and water sports.

We went to Bull Shoals Lake for the first time this year and had an AMAZING time.  The resort was so family friendly.  The boys did lots of fishing, the girls did their nails and hair.  Our days consisted of boating and swimming in the pool.  Ed and Jon went fishing early for four mornings and evenings.  We took a boat ride to the amazing dam.  We were sad we had to miss the wakeboarding competition weekend.  But we did wakeboarding of our own...at least Jon and Ed did.  We all skied and kneeboarded.  We tubed and swam. We lsitened to fun music. 

One afternoon, we were all swimming when Bella yelled and demanded that it was her turn to ski and to all get in the boat!  So we obeyed and she went kneeboarding with dad. 

Becca overcame her fear and embraced skiing.  She seems to forget year to year and we have to remind her that it's fun. 

Jon got up on a wakeboard!  He was so excited.

Savannah skiied to Miley Cyrus and danced on the way (on her ski, shaking her hips).

I love my family!
