Machine quilting

So being inspired by my cousin-in-law, Shanna, I've taken up quilting again. I went through a phase when we were first married, then later made a couple tie quilts for the kids a few years ago. Luckily I haven't gotten rid of all my sewing stuff, figuring I'd have another sewing phase at some point in my life, and so here ya go...I've arrived. After seeing Shanna's amazing quilts, I decided I wanted to do that. My quilts in the past have been either fringed fleece or tie quilts. I didn't really know you could machine quilt...there ya have it. So, now that I know, here I go. Well I needed a practice piece first, so I took over Rebecca's quilting project as my own making a blanket for her doll. Here it is.

It's only 22"x22" but it took me, HELLO, DAYS to get it done! Between homeschooling and making dinner, I did it in increments of time. Now when my cousin Kydon saw all the material I bought he said I'd be busy for a year. I thought, Nah. I got enough material for 6 quilts and they looked fun, so I'm gonna get 'em done quick. Well, now I'm having 2nd thoughts. After doing this one, um, ok Kydon, I think I may be busy for maybe a year and a half. It'll be fun though! And a good learning journey.
